Im trying to get a second opinion on what could be wrong with this... Someone said its brown jelly disease and that i should throw it out immediately. does that sound right? should i just toss it or does this look normal? sorry im new. its my first coral of a newly cycled tank, thank you for the advice.

Looks to have 12 tentacles per polyp head, which would be Alveopora. May respond well to Goniopower, Acropower, SpongePower or a slurry of frozen and or pellets or flake. Mod flow and lighting.

I wouldn't toss it, you'd be surprised at what little tissue it takes for a coral to bounce back. I don't think it looks sick, I believe it's just the die off. Try feeding the polyps like posted above.

Diluted Iodine dip, then light peroxide dip. Very light.
Gently scrub.

The iodine and peroxide will kill most possible brown jelly. And kill the alge / funk stuff.
