I’ve always wanted to keep a gold flake angelfish, the only issue was the on average $600 price tag! I saw a thread from a member on here complaining about a fish that shipped in from reefpro a half inch shorter than advertised. This seemed like a blatant scam in which they kept the fish and got a charge back, which rubbed me the wrong way of course, so I decided to check out their website. As usual the first thing I do is run to the angelfish section, my jaw hit the floor lol captive bred goldflake angel for $220 at 2.5 inches. Immediately I add it to my cart along with a captive bred emperor juvenile for $69.99, I finish off my order with a true halichoeres Chrysus for $30!!! Couldn’t believe it, still can’t. They ship in today, extremely well packed, acclimation guide with acclimation fluid in packets to help with the process. Next I check the fish, probably the fattest Juvi emperor angel I’ve ever seen, and a stunning goldflake, both lively, alert, and in flawless condition. After following the acclimation guide to the letter, I drop the angels in my QT, I see the goldflake picking for food within 5 minutes and had him eating frozen 5 more after that. That’s when it hit me, I forgot my ruler and sheet of paper!! I guess I’m stuck with the bill and couldn’t be more satisfied 😁
