My 75g mixed tank

Wow, there are some great scape here. Nice work all

I'm in the process of building my 75 gallon and will be moving my 34 gallon into it later this week. I would love to get some ideas from everyone here on your 75 gallon aquascapes, so that I can plan mine out.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing them!
Thanks for making this thread, I'm starting a 75g build too and wanted some inspiration. What are your dimensions? Mine is 48"x12"x20" and the narrowness is proving obnoxious for a heavily-rocked semi aggressive FOWLR.

Aren't those dimensions a 50 gallon? 12 inch width is doesn't give much to work with.

Is it? Odd, last time I looked it up it was a 75. Well shoot, thanks a bunch AI google answer lol. A family member bought it and it wasn't marked so working with what I got. Either way yeah the width is a pain.

That size is tough, partly because they're narrow, partly because those tanks tend to all be tempered (never seen a 55 that wasn't). I think your best bet would be pillars rather than a pile, or minimalist (scape and stock it like it's a 30-40 gal instead of 55).

You also could do a sloping deep sandbed at one end with rock that sticks out of the top of the deep sand bed and then peninsula the rock right down the middle? That is often how freshwater planted tanks are aquascaped but I kind of did that with my reef. I would make sure that foundation rock in the deep sandbed portion is sitting on the glass.

I kept my stuff pretty low. I wanted to allow or growout for the SPS. I also covered the overflow just to almost "close in" the tank and make it look like a little more coral crowded. lot of caves, but I'd look into keeping a small powerhead lower behind the rock work. I had the best luck wit the aquascape staying towards the middle of the tank rather than towards the back or front wall. I had it originally against the back wall and always had so much detritus buildup

I’m going to be doing the exact same thing soon going from my 32g biocube to a 75.

Got mine setup since I started this thread - here are some pics of how it sits today.

So far I have a female and male Melanarus Wrasse, Pacific Blue Tang and a pair of clowns along with a bunch of different corals.
