Hey everyone, I'm thinking about setting up a refugium in my Evo 13.5 and am looking for ideas. Let me know what worked for you and what didn't!

Yeah I'm probably going to get some egg crates and move most of the filtration to chamber 1 and figure out a refugium for chamber 2
I would love the InTank shelf but can't bring myself to spend $60 when egg crates will work for like $5 haha

unfortunately with plenty of research it seems the egg crate allows to much water flow around and not through the chamber , if you use acrylic and cut off some of the flow from chamber two and one and also block off the whole inside tank ( middle) it will work

Here's the refugium on my son's evo. Cheap skimmer from Amazon in chamber 1, second chamber is macro algae with a cheap Amazon grow light on the back, and second chamber has stock pump and heater. It's simple and works great, sometimes too good since nutrients are undetectable.

Oh yeah, that makes sense. I might have to invest in a sheet of acrylic to block some of those holes. Thanks for the heads up :)

Here’s mine, chamber one intank basket with floss on top middle has chemipure and purigen and bottom has marinepure block. My fuge in the second chamber has marinepure block and cheato, a lot of pods in there also, have a IM fuge light Velcro on the back runs opposite my display tank and overlaps a couple hours. 3rd chamber has return and heater. Also just took off the black honey comb on the fluval display I like it a lot better and came off so easy.

I suggest that you scratch off the black hex decal where your light is, I did the same with a razor blade, super easy. You'll get a lot more light going through, which'll mean faster growth.

Yes your right and I actually did right before I put it on about half of the size of the light then I left some on because of the pods try to dim some where the marinepure block was so it don’t shine to bright on them.

Wow didn't realize how nice the tank looks without the honeycomb design around the top Definitely something I'm considering :D

Yea looks a lot better, I did mine because I’m taking off the hood and getting a AI prime HD and just ordered a safe top lid fusion vent which will make the rimless effect work and the honey comb would’ve looked bad with that lid and setup. This is the lid I ordered.

Where did you get this lid from? It is the best one that I have seen and would like to order one.

I believe that's from Safe Top Lids. I may be wrong but they have some nice ones too

Hi,
I looked around for a whole and couldn't find anything on the market that fitted what I wanted so I designed and 3d printed one to go in chamber two. Made a video of it here Seems to be working really well so far.

Very nice wish I had a 3D printer to make the chaeto insert to make myself 1 . I don't wanna use the intank basket for it or without an insert cause I don't want it getting in my pump section or display. Might have to just plumb in a 2.5g or 5g external fuge or something

If you could figure out a way to ship that to the US, I'd buy one lol

What chamber baskets do you use? Do you have any issues with flow? I have the dflow baskets but seem to be having next to no water in my refugium
