It’s a shame. Selling frags to other hobbyists used to be about helping each other out, spreading the love, sharing your finds, etc. I hate that it’s about profit now. Frag swaps used to literally be meetups to trade frags - now the last one I went to was just a bunch of vendors behind tables, not a hobbyist seller at the whole event.

I refuse to spend high dollar any more. I tend to kill stuff so it's a waste for me.

My most expensive coral is my bubble coral i spent like 70$ And i did buy a hawkings acropora the other day for 70$.

Alot of my corals are in the 25-50$ range.. i usually never spend more then 50$ on one coral... I try to spend no more then 50-60$ when i go to the shops so i usually get like 2 or 3 of the 10-25$ corals.

I have like nearly 50 corals in my 135g though and tbh i cant get many more unless i get frag racks lol. My rocks are pretty full and i need to leave space for them to grow.

I try to find the gems in the frag tanks.. Ill sit in the store for like 1-2 hours look intensly doing research on corals i dont know.. and ill buy the ones missplaced in the cheap section that were high dollar corals.

For example last night i got a rainbow monitpora for 30$ all the rainbow montis ive seen locally are in the 70+$ range. Usually petco where i live has better prices then local shops.

Like my pearl bubble i got for 30$ there.. Petco has to sell the corals at prices corporate sets not what the employee wants or what they are truely (worth)
