I have never said that. I said purple rock. I have seen plenty of Coralline encrusted rock while scuba diving and Snorkelling but to me this type of reef is unrealistic.
What is "this" type of reef? Coralline is predominately purple. Sure sounds like you're saying a Coralline encrusted Reef aquarium is unrealistic.

Click the OPs links in the reply you quoted.... OP is talking about painted purple rock... Not coralline encrusted rock... It is totally obvious from the context of the posts what they mean...

‍op is referring to purple painted rocks and tanks that look like a black light lit poster in a stoners room.

Gotcha, I agree with you. I used to dive too (no longer live near an ocean) and I prefer a mid afternoon natural look to my reef as well. That's why I use a Kessil now, the color is easily tune-able to look natural, like when I ran metal halide in the past. I can set it to a natural look without fussing around with spectrum setting and let Kessil Logic handle all of that.

There, fixed it for you! lol... I run an AP9X over the tank I shared in this picture... and when I first read your reply I read Tuna Blue instead of tune-able hehe. Kessil has me talking like them now!

I use one unnatural looking rack for the torches but otherwise I try to keep it as natural looking as possible . I hope this is close enough-

A couple pics from my 125 under 5000k LEDs. I like the shallow water look from the whiter lights, but my clams started closing up around mid-day (corals didn’t seem bothered at all). Went back to my old lights until I can find a little time and a decent PAR meter.

Here’s my 500 gal. Under 400 watt metal halides. These are from 1 yr.+ ago. I need to get an updated video of things.
