Show off your Acropora humilis here! Let's see these guys! I've got a new frag (I'll get a pic in here soon), and would love to see some other frags and colonies. :-)

I would be surprised if many even have them in their tanks knowingly these days. Would LOVE to see some nice nubby acro pics though! Lost my only piece a few months back and almost picked one up last week.

I had a very nice colony in my 22g, but lost it when I moved it to my 90g (heavy metals), it was a fast grower for me, but it didn't have the dense growth that I wanted it to. It was hard to get the flow right in my 22g at the end, just too many corals.

It's the very bottom center. Maybe if I had a gyre, it would’ve thickened up?

We got some! :D

We bought one colony years ago, and it’s been in a frag tank all along. I’ve been cutting frags from it now and then. Now there are up to more then 20 colonies. Preparation for a large reef tank opening in two years :)

Only have an old photo from when I had to shorten my colony as it was getting to close to the surface. Had this A. Humilis as a 30x30 cm piece until a couple months ago. Cut it into 5 parts and gave those to some reefing friends. One is holding onto one of these frags so I can get it back once my new reef is up and running next year. One of the best looking A. Humilis I ever saw (this is under 14K 400W halides so you don't see the pop of the polyps like under blue light or actinics).

May I ask what the gyre has to do with the thickness? Thanks! Your tank looks awesome!
It’s a coral that’s accustom to a lot of flow. Not blasting, but a good amount of laminar flow, hence the gyre comment. Thanks, I miss that tank. It was one of the easiest tanks to maintain.

I love the burst of humilis pics guys! Proved me wrong :) I have a number of old pics, if I get time I will post them.

I recently got a frag of it and it’s one of the brightest corals in my tank!
