Alright so with Fiji opening back up, I’m sure some of you have picked up a Fiji Yellow - Sarcophyton elegans.

I just picked one up at my LFS. On the smaller side but based on the polyps it had, should look beautiful once it opens up.

I picked one up last week, I will try to get a decent picture.
I think if people post a picture it would help posting the lighting a color temp they are using. Maybe intensity/par if they have that information. I know from the past ( mid 90's) they seemed to like pretty high par ( for a softy). I always had mine mounted near the top of the rock structure under 10k metal halides.

When I get home from work, I’ll try to get an open pic. Right now mine is about four inches below the water line underneath a 250w 10k halide.

The first LFS I was in was sold out selling theirs for $150. The LFS I bought it from had small ones (around 2-3 inches) for $89, and Larger (4-6 inches) for $139. They also had a massive one (about 10 inches) that wasn’t for sale.

This one was on the smaller end of the large ones but was the only one fully extended

Do you guys know what’s settings would be ideal on a Hydra or Radion light for this type of coral?

I would be interested to hear this, just for leds in general.
I'm experimenting with my Coral Care gen 2 fixtures and not happy so far.

I don’t run either of those lights, but for optimal color, my guess would be around whatever gives a 10k look. With just my blue LED it’s nothing special (unedited, 15k orange filter):

Has it looked yellow under other lighting?
Honestly I haven’t tried long term besides while adjusting light intensity so it's bathed in blue. My frag came from DIYreefer, believe its from a pre ban piece he has. I did just set up a 2nd tank that my leathers will all go in so lighting will be more adjustable for it and see if I can get any beautiful yellow color!

My color may change some. It’s only been in a couple days. I hope it stays though.

Back in the middle to late 90's I had one that was huge and very yellow. I had it under 10K XM bulbs. It stayed yellow.
