For those who have minimalist rock work in your display, do you load up with rock in the sump? Do you find the tank is more susceptible to nitrates with less biological filtration?

I run minimalist rock work, I do have live rock in the sump and also seachem Matrix 2kg and Chateau. But I wouldn't say I am loaded, still plenty of room.

Don't know if a 140 qualifies for large tank scape, or not, but this was my 48" x 24" x 29" at about 6 months when you could see the rock scape.

I have gone minimalist in my tank(photo previous page)...I have 180 pounds rock for a 400 gallon tank and 90 gallon sump..i am currently testing something...I have run the tank for approx. 7 weeks with no protean skimmer and no water change. EVERY single water parameter is perfect. Fish load currently is a 5 inch orange spotted rabbit fish and a tessalata eel aprox 15 inches long...my rocks all have tons of life already and lots of algae being eaten daily by rabbit fish)
