So when my wife and I first started living together... she came with a cat, Gus, who is usually not this cuddly.
But, just like my wife, Gus appreciates the reefing hobby. For those of you who are curious, he doses
@twofishys acropower and doesn’t skim, and doses
@Brightwell nitro so his acros have deeper blues.
But sometimes Gus just won’t cuddle...
And my wife and I work long and odd hours, so we decided Gus needed a buddy to keep him company while we’re away. So we rescued this little guy from the engine of a Prius, and named him Calvin.
Calvin liked the Holidays, but I think he missed the spirit of Christmas and went for the shiny objects.
And he was a downright scrooge over wearing this santa outfit. He just refused to move anytime we (wifey) put it on.
In fact, Calvin was a bit of a butt at first. He even kicked Gus out of his shark house.
When it came to doing renovations, Calvin was better suited to supervisory tasks.
But we warmed up to his needy personality, no matter how many times he wakes us up at 4am with his chattering (seriously), or when we wake up with a bed full of toys (his catnip stuffed mice, get your minds out of the gutter). :)
And he even got into reefkeeping as well. Haven’t gotten him trained to scrape the glass yet...
And ultimately, he even won over the cranky old Gus, just as soon as they upgraded their kitty-condo....
And with two cats and busy lives we got the kitty equivalent of the trident - an automatic litter monitor and management system.
So we’ve all adapted. Just don’t expect to get many reef2reef articles read with these guys around!
