Will finish half sleeve in September at my next appt. Not sure what I am adding next
great work

I have 2 tattoos. Two dots. Guides for radiation therapy 24 years ago. My father was dead set against tattoos. Just his thing. But since I've really been really close with him my entire life, I honored his sentiment while he was alive. Now that he's gone, I'm trying to figure out what to do and where. Big step for someone like me!!!!

Edit: WAS really close to him. Not used to the past tense quite yet!!

I don’t personally understand the wish to remove a tattoo. Like a scar (literally) a tattoo is a way marker, it holds a meaning in time. You can look at a tattoo and there’s a whole story to you about what was occurring then. You can’t undo life, you have to own it and wear it and a tattoo is just that.

The two that I have done over the summer. I have another one on my back but got no pic. The one on my back is a dragon and koi fish in Ying Yang positions. There's a Japanese myth that said, the koi fish have to swim against the flow of water to reach heaven and once the koi reached the heaven it will become a dragon.

My new tattoo symbolizes a lot in oriental mythology.

I really don’t think it’s that deep. We all die and it’s your body, want tattoos go ahead and get them. If anyone’s offended by a drawing on another persons skin (assuming it’s nothing offensive of course) that’s on them. Lots of talk about “permanent” here but nothing is truly permanent. Dust to dust.

Part of my day job is laser tattoo removal. I’ve been practicing for 23 years, so trust me when I say…. I hope you all really, really, really love your ink art………bc 95% of those will never be completely removed . I’m by no means judging. Some of them are pretty cool, others, not so much.
Agreed.
I have two arm-fulls from my late teens that in both design & execution, look like they were performed by a drunken pirate :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
I dislike them & have had zero interest in tattoos generally for about 15 years but I forget they are there now tbh

LOL, and that's what I'm trying to avoid! I want to find an artist. I want my son and daughter's pic on my right shoulder to start. With something artsy-fartsy around it. Something denoting my profession (probably our Rx symbol) and something having to do with reefing. And a treble clef, representing 53 years of playing various instruments.

With the incredible artwork performed by artists today, I can definitely see the appeal & possibility of representing family, hobbies etc faithfully.
I had a total lack of maturity & foresight with mine & couple that with a very old school "biker tattooist" in the early 2000s, they have aged about as well as a bee gees album :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Got a sea turtle on my calf with some coral around it—took about five hours but totally worth it. Thinking of adding a clownfish next to finish the scene.
