Remove the garlic if you can, it will never get fish feeding as it’s too much of a deterrent.

Use frozen as well, it’s incredibly difficult to get fish feeding on dry foods straight away.
Ah though garlic helps. Will get some mysis later and see.

Blue face. I got some brine shrimps but still don’t touch them
So now one started to eat a bit of my diy food but the other one still not. Should I try live food? Or should I wait a couple more days. It’s being almost two weeks, still swimming front and center with the second one.

My LFS are out or don’t carry live brine shrimp. I forced fed him with some shrimp paste not sure if that went into the stomach since I don’t have a super small or not knowing will hurt him. Still swimming around, what’s my next approach

2019 was the first ever pair in the hobby - still going strong too.

There’s now been the tiny baby orenis as previously it was the large adults.

I use an Avast Plank Autofeeder filled with Avast freeze dried food, mixed pellets, cut up dried seaweed for my tank. All my fish gather around the autofeeder at feeding time. All the fish seemed to have learned that whatever comes out is food. I guess from watching other fish darting for the food. The only one that prefers pecking at rocks instead is the flame angel. My skunk tilefish eats with gusto.

Posting another picture of Sushi, this poor guy has been through so much! Two separate quarantines (one when he arrived, another when the DT had to go fallow), overcame multiple parasites (ich and suspected flukes), tons of medications, and countless attempts to jump out (I swear my lid could be used in a maximum security facility now).

He even got stuck in my light mount bracket out of the water once (under the lid) - luckily I heard it and freed him before it was too late (and printed a 3D insert so he can't get stuck there again).

But now we're almost two weeks past the end of the fallow period, he's back in the DT and he's super happy again. He even loves when I pet him - hopefully I can record a good video of that soon. :)

Thank you, he's a fighter! I work from home, so he's fed small portions of frozen mix 4-5 times a day. He's very very active even at night, and constantly on the hunt.

Sushi had a rough night. My cleaner shrimp scared the heck out of him. I heard a splash and found him just sitting confused on the sand bed afterward. He's acting like nothing happened now.

Do your tilefish get easily spooked at night too?

Mine used to get heavily spooked at night - it’s one of the reasons I had the camera on the tanks. And obviously, my skunk getting spooked by having a much larger tank led to his demise unfortunately.

But! Tilefish will hopefully be in my future again, we have a 3 foot peninsula display coming to the shop at some point and you bet my aim is to have a group of tilefish again.
Any thoughts which ones I should try again? Chlupatyi, Purpureus and Marcosi are all in the thought currently.
