I also have lighting timers which connect to my home alarm system to run my light cycle....and a p-TOUCH and a big mess of electrical cord organizers and zip ties. Here is what I have so far... got a list of ticky tac stuff I need from HD, or Frys Electronics.... hopefully HD has everything.

@Curtie44- that's really amazing. i've only seen set-ups like that on commercial systems.

@JSB - nice setup. I tired something similar with my RKE setup, but didn't route the wires as nicely.

I would like to see more about this setup.
Very hard to believe this is what people use to run their fish tank.

The setup box that you posted looks like it's being used for some sort of big automation operation. I believe the Allen Bradley setup alone (on the top shelf) would cost around 200k already, the configuration software use to configure those CPU and IO device is somewhere 100K or even more..

These are the kind of device that my company is using in our software automation group and I have a smaller version of this setup in my cubicle.

By the way, the wiring was neatly done. The same simliar setup that I setup last year in my test lab and in my office is way messy.

Yes indeed, this is all industrial controls hardware. Not stuff you go down to your local home depot and buy but it is in my basement running my aquarium. Check ebay...you can get used Controllogix platform PLC's for next to nothing these days if you are diligent. Your Rockwell distributor is ripping you off if you are paying $100K for RSLogix 5000 and Factory Talk View Studio. I admit, I got lucky with the VersaView...those are pretty salty (but I got it for scrap price :bigsmile:). I originally wanted a PanelView Plus 1000 but couldn't find one at a price I was willing to pay. It took me over a year of hunting and searching for the hardware before I had enough to get started.

I'm pretty sure they were around $75 if I remember correctly. They are 110V and will dose 4ml/minute in the configuration I bought. I don't think Omega sells the exact one I bought anymore unfortunately.

Cool.. Well I picked up some black acrylic so I don't have to worry about paint stripping off... Here is the start to my panel... No where near as cool as yours... But I'm not an engineer either

Ive been working on mine for 3 days now... what a pain in the booty... But once I decided to build it into the stand, it's making it all worth it because very rarely will I ever have to change anything out. Before it was trying to attach things to wear I could uninstall it in case I had to move. Now it is an all in one package.

i am the same, i enjoy looking at the plumbing, sometimes fall asleep with the cabinets open while looking.
