The grouper is very timid. He is scared of my small mummichogs which were supposed to be feeders. He doesn't bother anyone and does not eat any live food. I have a bunch of ghost shrimp in there and they are fine.

I found all the typical aggressive fish like groupers, sharks, eels and stingrays are very peaceful fish. They eat fish for food. If you feed them well they are usually good.

Well I'm pretty gutted right now. My eel apparently decided last night that he wanted to either swim into the powerhead, or climb into the overflow and down the pipe into the return. Either way, it did not end well. I had him for less than two weeks....he was my birthday present to myself, and easily my favorite thing in my tank. RIP little guy :(

Ive had similar experiences. But i also take care of a grouper that was just like yours then one day snapped and now is the most aggressive and boss fish in the tank.

I've now added a humahuma trigger, flamengy tang(sp), orange spot rabbitfish, greenbird wrasse,Miniatus grouper to my tessalatta eel. Tried adding a smaller snowflake but my tess chased it right out of the tank...i'll post pics when I can)

I still intend to add a Spanish hogfish, Cuban hogfish, harlequin tusk, panther grouper and volitan lionfish...trying not to max my bioload just yet)

Ah. Thats a lot of waste even for a 400 but managable. Would be cool to see that tank when you have them in it

I'm so glad I picked up a second leaf, such a beautiful fish. Sorry the tank is dirty and I didn't want to stress the fish out by cleaning.

I was really nervous about adding another since the yellow one has been established and couldn't find information on it and wondered if it was like other fish. I'm pretty sure they aren't fighting as I've seen a video of a leaf and rhino and they knock pretty hard at each other; These two stay about 1/2" apart and sway in sync. It ate ghost shrimp today, so I hope it does well! I would love to add a third since that's how they are in nature, but I will have to see how my water conditions are in the next few months or maybe trade out the lion.

Awesome! I had a trio and then a cockatoo together and they all did fine. Talk about a bottom heavy tank!
