Plan to skin it?[/QUOTE]

I made a 2" overhang on the plywood as I like the look and having a small overhang for water drips and place to put things such as food. This also covers the top alumium bracing and gives me a place to hide the board. This is my second time doing this I did the first one with laminate and decided to not use it as I felt it was not 100% straight. looking back I probably should have used it. My current ledge i'll just plaster and paint white.

I got some thin decorative panels and will paint them the same color as the wall. The I got some small corner strips and bottom trim to cover up any imperfections.
As far as how to put it together, Since the panels are thin I will add some wood structure around the door panels and have them attach to the sump bottom plywood section. I am also considering magnets and some velcro so I can remove them.

Here is mine 10 days after filling..

42"X26"X38" (80/20 1.5"X1.5")

Happy with the purchase, T slot was my only option when deciding on my 24" wide sump!. The challenge is finding ways to mount things inside and outside. Vibration made me nervous so i anchored the stand to the wall using L brackets, This helped provide additional support when walking by it. It is definitely strong but I'll admit I was nervous when filling...hope this helps.

Where do you order stands like this?

You need to find your local distributor and begin a conversation with them they will then give u a rendering for urnstand. Just double check prices against amazon might be cheaper

Any tanks with close to 300g using these stands?

Yes large many tanks here in CH or DE use Alu profile stands. No issues if correctly sized and designed.

Some Alu profile supply companies offer a design service and will also do stress calculations to make sure you build a safe unit. Some will also cut the parts and pre-drill so it becomes an "IKEA" build process

Looking to build a stand for a 6foot 200 us gal tank, but am not seeing many examples, and when I do they'e not really letting on what size profile they'e used

I had one designed out of 45mm x 90mm profiles for a 250G tank. I've done a lot of research and priced pieces and hardware to put it all together myself. In the end I went with a company that has expertise and I believe it came out cheaper that if I had bought everything separately and they used much stronger fasteners that I couldnt do myself.

I just responded to a thread (link below) and I know this dates back to February but hope it helps. I have been planning my build for more than a year so perhaps you still need this info.
