It's a learning curve like anything else. I learned all my tricks by trial and error, lots of youtube videos and reading. For the best pictures that I can shoot so far, I have learned to manipulate my DLSR really well when it comes to ISO, aperture, exposure etc. I also bought a cheap tripod, which is absolutely necessary for a long exposure. Next purchase is a 90mm macro lens from Tamron. Trust me, when I see my old point and shoot old pictures, they are horrible and washed out!

Nuvo 16. First tank.
2 years old.
Kessil 360w
Minimax reactor with carbon and GFO
I also keep Chemipure Elite in the trays

Turned into mostly Zoa tank with Anemone
and one Clown living happily with his buddy. There is also a big brittle starfish behind the rocks. He comes out but I am afraid of what I will find if I ever moved that rock!
The tank is basically self sustaining. I very rarely do water changes. Seems the Zoas love these conditions as they have all grown from small colonies.
The Anemone came as a hitchhiker on the back of a frag and is now ruling the tank.
