My 5 month old Evo 13.5...my first reef tank and I'm still learning so much as I go.

I've experienced a lot of the "oh no's" such as a terrible case of dinoflagellates that required a 3 day blackout to bring under control (I'm still on a low light, decreased photo period schedule), a case of flatworms that decimated my hammer coral, aiptasia which is now eradicated, various algae breakouts and various nitrates and phosphate spikes as I learned to not feed my fish like it's an all u can eat buffet .

Current build specs are:
Stock pump
Hydor 240 powerhead
Jebao SW-2 wavemaker
Aqua Life 115 protein skimmer (running in Chamber 2)
DIY 3 compartment media basket in Ch 1 running filter pads in top chamber, chemipure blue in 2nd and 3rd compartments
Hipergaro 30w cree led light with separately controlled actinic channel
Eheim 50 watt heater
Smart ATO micro
Jebao 4 head dosing pump (just got)

Current livestock:
Pair of ocellaris clowns
Purple striped dottyback (I know, I know)
Rose BTA
Pair of sexy shrimp
Peppermint shrimp
Astrea snails 3
Turbo snails 2
Nassarius snails 2
Scarlett reef hermit crabs 2
Stomatella snails - various
Ultra Lobo
Jason Fox Green Goddess bird's nest
Paly's - 2 varieties
Zoa's - 3 varieties
Galaxea coral
Blue pulsing Xenia
Neon tipped toadstool
Red mushrooms
Peach ultra ricordea (just added)
Green star polyps

Appreciate the opportunity to share my tank![emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4] thanks!

I love your tank.

- How much live rock is that? That looks like the perfect amount.

- How do you like that Wavemaker? I just ordered one. Too hard to resist for 39 dollars. I have seen reviews, they seem okay. Is it too powerful? What is it set at? You can only have one powerhead connected to that, or two?

- I see you have another powerhead, is it hooked to anything else or just solo?

Thanks.

Hey Everyone, think I figure out the posting issue. New here. Just wanted to share my 25g Bowfront. It is finally settling in after a big move, temp dropped to 54 during move, took a beating, acros lost all color, lost some coral, but stabilized and slowly coloring up. Tank is almost a year old. Love all the nano's here and watching the progress. I'll try and get better pics, some look blurry.

what makes nanos your favorite Just wondering is it the size. I love nanos as well for the shear size of them how they can be displayed just about anywhere from centerpiece on a kitchen table to desktops
Yes it’s the size and for me the maintenance was very easy. I started out with a 3 gallon Pico tank and my last tank was a JBJ 30 gal. AIO rimless. Unfortunately I was gone and someone else was taking care of it, all I’ll is things went bad. :( I will have another nano hopefully within a year already checking out the 14 gal. Peninsula AIO, still have a lot of equipment and lighting from the JBJ. Looking forward to seeing more pictures of yours:)

What I love about nanos is nothing gets lost. In other words every piece is featured and important. Every piece of live rock and coral, the few fish and all of the invertebrates must (should) be carefully chosen to work in the small area.

I am slowly setting up what will be a minimalistic JBJ 30 gallon. Maybe 3-4 fish and 8-10 corals. My intent is to make each addition count.

What lighting do you plan to use? A skimmer?
Oh and I have to mention that I loved every fish and coral that was in there, I really miss my little piece of heaven.
