shroom or mini carpet?

I don't know what this is in a family member's tank. I am thinking shroom or mini carpet. Any ideas?

cool. When I was over there she didn't know exactly what it was so I figured Id ask the experts

I figured it was a type of mushroom and took a wild guess, but they kinda looked like a mini carpet to me as well.

So what do you think the white stringy stuff is coming out of it? All I did was move the rock and touch one to see if it was sticky or slimy...

Odds are it's just showing you their guts. If you poke them or disturb them they'll do that. Might also be trying to eat something close/make sure it has room to grow. Nothing to worry about unless they get close to something you don't want dissolved.
