Sicce Shark Pro 900 Internal Filter

Just picked up a Shark Pro 900 to run Carbon and Phosguard in my system. The pump will be in the skimmer section of my sump. Do I need to leave the filter pads in the different compartments or can I leave them out. Not using as a filter, just a media supplement and don’t want to worry about having to clean more components on a weekly basis.

If anyone has experience using one in their system, any advice would be appreciated.

I use one in my Freshwater tank.

If you're using it as a reactor more or less, then the sponges probably can be removed although keeping them in may keep the media from plugging up faster. The mesh bags will collect a lot of detritus potentially and the sponges will help prefilter that.

You’ll need to clean those sponges twice a week if you leave them in.

Hey! Nice idea! I was planning to use it for water polishing in main display but struggle to find what is maximum glass thickness? Mine is 15mm… what is your and does magnet hold?
