Hi all,

On my last tank I remember those nasty little pieces flying in display, I did not had those on my 30G which had a sump and a canister running at the same time, water was super clear.
But before I had a chance to run Ozone and/or internal filter with floss had to shutdown the tank and quit hobby for 5 years.

Currently setting up UNS R150 and while slowly doing it (now waiting salt and sand to arrive) thinking a little ahead - so water polishing came up. Yes its far away but I want to think in advance not if problem arise and I have to rush decision.

Seems like there is plenty of products:
- Tunze Comline 3168 (could also be used as a media reactor if needed)
- Tunze Turbelle e-jet 3005 (only floss but most powerfull and energy efficient)
- Sicce Shark Pro 900 (could be used as reactor and horizontally will fit sump)
- Marineland Magnum polisher

And plenty of other ‘internal’ filters in different price ranges…

Anyone can suggest or recommend or used any of those?

PS: will be running ozone and carbon if needed, this is why taking so long for the build, because planing plumbing and equipment to be easy built into the system instead of my last time rush and plug in and have difficulties in maintenance …

Agree with those particles being food. Though it might depend on how much particulate matter there is - at a certain point it’ll foul the water.

In terms of internal filter, I feel like using it as a reactor makes sense but for additional filtration none of the options you were thinking of would make the water that much clearer due to the much much higher water volume.

My guess is the water clarity for 30G came from the really heavy filtration (sump + cannister) for a small volume of water. With 150, the problem would be order of magnitude bigger to solve.

That being said I think ozone would still work for the big volume, as it’s highly effective in breaking down organics and that includes particulate matter while it scales decently well (you’ll just have to run it much longer)
