Canister filters: which ones do you prefer?

I change my 1/2 dose of Rox 0.8 activated carbon in a bag in my canister every 2 weeks. I give the sponges a swish in salt water then. I have replaced everything else but the exit sponge (for impeller protection) with rubble.
