I am looking to get a sicce syncra sdc return pump. I am unsure which size to go with as my tank is a 40 display cube with a 20 gal sump below. I am between the 3.0 (260-800gph) and 6.0 (530-1450gph). Head height is 4'6". Right now I am currently using a jebao 3000 which is 3000l/h. I feel like I could definitely use more flow in certain areas but at the same time am worried that the 6.0 may be pushing it too much. If anyone by chance has these exact specs let me know your experience. If you have a similar size please let me know what you think.

You're better off tuning the return pump to the flow of your overflow system and using a wavemaker pump inside the display to increase flow to dead spots

I have a 40 breeder with 20 gallon sump. I got the 6.0, but only because the 3.0 was out of stock, and unknown when they would get more and I didn't want to wait. The 6.0 is set at 34%. so I would say the 3.0 is sufficient.

I use a sdc 6.0 on my 70g. At 60% i get roughly 500gph. I go 1” tubing into my 57w uv then 1” to 2x 3/4 returns. Its peobably about 4.5 feet high. You lose a ton of flow with bends and splits.

I also run 2 mp40’s and 2 mp10’s to get all the flow I want

I would go with the 3.0

I'm currently running a 6.0 on a tank with a total water volume of about 65g and its really too much, I'm having to run it at about 50%
I am running dual rfg nozzles as well at 4.5' head height. I ended up going with the 6.0 as well and I am just going to turn it down. I went with this one so that it will have a longer lifespan from running it low instead of a 3.0 at 90%. I also can bring it over to a larger tank when I upgrade again lmaooo.

I have mine running at 40% rn and I plan on checking the corals tomorrow to see how they look and go from there. I went with the 6.0 in case I upgrade in the future.

We are going to have the same setup think. I am also going to use 2 Sicce SDC 3.0 but one will be sufficient. I am going to use 1" lines and reduce at the very end to 3/4". Going to add a bunch of unions and a 2 ball valves for the manifold and drain adjustment.

I ended up going with the 6.0 and keep it at 35%
