I got this little guy on Saturday and he was closed up and looking dead this morning. I was almost about to remove him! But a few hours after the light turned on he opened back up again? Is he sick? Is this normal? Why is he doing this?

they are photosynthetic , so just monitor it since you just introduced it. Water tests look normal. just may be going through an adjustment phase.

When BTAs move from tank to tank, they typically deflate to remove all of the water inside of them. They'll re-inflate with tank water and may do this a few times over the course of a couple of weeks. If it remains deflated for a few days or detaches or looks like it's falling apart, then there is a cause for concern. Otherwise, just leave it alone and should be totally fine by the end of week two.
