Hey! I was just checking on my tank this morning, and my clownfish has cloudy eyes, and what seems to be mucus over its face and somewhat its body. I added a royal gramma, some hermits and some Mexican turbos a couple weeks ago. My tank is 20g, and this clown would be the only fish in the tank, as I haven’t seen the RG for a week or two, and I’m assuming it’s dead. What should I do?

Anyway to get more clear pics or video? Fish breathing fast? Still eating?

What I’m seeing in the fourth pic, or rather what I can make out from it is some spots. Possibly ich, flukes cloudy eyes, or brook if you say you’re seeing mucus.
But some better media posted would help the medics here assess what could be the issue.

Maybe the pictures are good but my phone can’t get them clear from the forum.

If you can get a QT going that would be the best. Copper power or copper safe, Ruby rally pro, prazi pro or pure prazi are some of the meds to have on hand.

He also is eating, but it seems like he’s picking and choosing what pellets to eat instead of inhaling them, if that makes sense. I also have ruby rally pro on hand, but nothing else, and I can’t set up a QT tank. I also do have corals in this tank if you couldn’t see.

If possible I would setup a small qt tank even a 5 gallon aquarium. Of course small qt tanks have to be monitored daily.

I wonder if the royal gramma brought in gill flukes and then died from that, but then the clown caught them? Do you ever see the clown scratching or rubbing on things in the tank?

Side note - the surface of the tank is really still. Did you turn off pumps to get the video? If not, you should add more circulation, I like to use air stones.

I haven’t seen any scratching, and the clown seems to be doing a bit better now. There’s not really any mucus besides the eye, and the fins are still really white on the ends, but still better than this morning. I can also increase my circulation, I adjusted my return nozzles a bit ago to be lower for a coral, but I can raise them again.

One other thing… is the fish yawning on a more constant level?

Here’s an update for today, he also seems to be hiding more in a cave and won’t come up for food. Do you think I should add some of the Ruby Rally Pro I have?

I’d add an air stone unless the tank has a protein skimmer. Bursting bubbles are the best was to ensure proper gas exchange.

Over the last couple days I’ve added some Ruby Rally Pro, but I haven’t been able to really check in on my tank. I was looking at my clownfish today, and it seems worse? The gills are definitely being torn up, and there seems to be spots on him.

Having you been adding a full dose of rally pro? You say you added “some”, but it needs to be a full dose…

Is there anything else I can do?

90min Ruby bath possibly. More concentrated dose.

Have you gotten praziquantel?

Edit: just saw that last video under white lights. Possible ich. For me the video is skipping around a lot. Another member posted like this. I told him to post to YT because YT supports 2k and you can see the fish much better. Just an idea.
