My firefish goby is hardly moving, also is gasping for air. Not eating either. I tested salinity and its at 1.025. Any suggestions on saving the fish are appreciated..

Hi,

We will need more background information. Pictures, video, list of tankmates, how long you've had the fish, etc. Here is a link to some examples of the info we will need:

Thanks,

Jay

Hello Jay, I can provide some more info. The fish is darting into the sand on its side aswell as swimming up next to the powerhead. I believe it has contracted ich or marine velvet. No white spots are visible to the eye.

If it is ich, you’ll see many white spots, like grains of salt . Velvet usually just causes rapid breathing and sometimes later on, very fine white spots, like dust.
Both can be treated in a hospital tank with copper, but velvet kills very fast, and once a fish begins swimming weakly, it is often too late.
