Yesterday I picked up a gionopora from my lfs and all other corals I picked up yesterday seen to be doing great but the goniopora doesn't seen like it is extending its polyps. Is this normal for some strains or do I just have to wait. It was also really short in the lfs.

Gonis are tricky in general, seems like mostly luck to me, mine randomly started to grow after months of struggling with algae and recession. Wait a few more days then move it to higher flow and light.

Gonis are quite picky. I'd give it a week before I'd worry too much.

By the way its an alveopora, its basically the same as a goni though. The only difference is that alveo has 12 petals on the polyps, and goni and 24 petals. IME alveo's are a bit easier than goni's, and typically have shorter stems than goni's.
