First time owning a hippo tang. Brought it home about a week ago. It’s pretty much been hiding in this little hole in the rocks every day until yesterday. Yesterday it started to come out and swim throughout the tank. Today I noticed these abrasions on its side. I’m guessing it’s from hiding and rubbing in the rocks, but figured I’d check here. That looks pretty bad, could use an experienced eye here - @vetteguy53081 forgive me if this is an improper use of a tag but I have seen you offer great advice on other fish maladies, any chance you know what’s up?

Sleeping in between rock is normal.
That abrasion is not.

He looks like he was pinned

Working on uploading to YouTube now. It was just a video on my phone.
No need to. Im home now and tang has serious bacterial issue which may have stemmed from injury or infection.
Treat in separate quarantine tank with Seachem Kanaplex and add aeration during treatment

Ok I’ll have to get that on Tuesday. Don’t have that medication on hand.

Are the other fish infested now as well? There are only 2 clowns and this tang. Should I treat the entire aquarium?

wasn’t able to find it anywhere around me. So I had to order it all. The earliest I could get it was Thursday.

Unless they shows signs, likely not but would not hurt if you wish to
