Anyone have any luck finding a way to silence the Neptune DOS when you do auto water changes? I run mine from my basement under the tank but you can hear the high hum through the entire house. Would love to see what others have done before I begin the quest lol

Well mine is in a shed outside and I can still hear the faint wine of it.

Its annoying as you know, so I do the water changes when I’m not in the house at work. It’s set at the moment between 9am and 1pm

It works a treat, I can’t hear anything! Lol

You can either run it slower by spreading the schedule over a longer period if possible, or build a sound dampening enclosure around the DOS. It also helps a little to put a layer of foam rubber between the DOS and the wall.

Run slow and start at midnight to 7am, sleep right through it

I Just run mine when I am not home lol it sits in the living room so its pretty loud lol
Neptune should make a form fitting polyurethane foam product to fit over the DOS to block out the noise. But I know they would never do this because it would be admitting that the DOS has a noise issue, which could affect sales. I use the DOS as an ATO, as well as an AWC system. The AWC happens overnight, so I don't care about that noise. But the ATO happens all day and it can get annoying.
