Yep - it is a solution - just trying to make sure it's a) the right one and b) my math was sound!

Forget the AI calcs.

40% sodium silicate would contain about 30% silica by weight, or 300 mg/g.

1 g will add 300 mg silica and would this boost 300 L by 1 mg/L.

No, the density is about 1.4, so 1 mL weighs about 1.4 grams.

You need to dilute the water glass in rodi before adding to your tank. I add 1 ml of wg to 3 to 500ml of rodi, then pour it in.
