Currently using a white egg crate light diffuser as a lid, I know they are not the best option, but for the price it’s working for now. That said, my wife and I dislike the bright white glow it puts off when the lights are on. Do you think the silver variety of egg crate would be any better? I would use black, but there’s none available in my area, and it seems pretty pricey online.

hi,not 100% sure, but think the silver is painted on.
double check before using.

Yeah, my guess is that it’s just the white crate painted, but since it’s not going to actually be in the water I’m not sure that’s a concern, or is it?

yes i think it would ,moisture will cause peeling
