Simplicity 320DC pump

What replacement pump have people used for the Simplicity 320DC skimmer? My pump seized up while I was on vacation but luckily I have a smaller spare skimmer on hand.

You can get a direct replacement through Aquacave. Comes with the pump and controller…but the darn thing is $180.

Mine seized a couple months ago. Try disassembling and cleaning before you buy a replacement. Got it working with a good cleaning.

They are very responsive to inquiries and may sell you just a pump if you ask.

Mine (on a 240) failed apparently under warranty -- I contacted Simplicity and they sent out a new one quickly. They also sent me some screws (gratis) that I stripped on a different occasion. I'd recommend contacting them.

I did see that but I was hoping for a good cheaper option. That is half the price of the skimmer.

I tore it all apart and even put some silicone lube on it and still nothing. I can’t complain I bought skimmer in January 2020 and it has run 24/7 since then.

I have sent them an email already but it was after hours so I am hoping for a reply tomorrow sometime. I bought mine in January 2020 so I am way out of warranty.

Are you sure it’s the pump and not the controller?

I am pretty sure since propeller is very hard to turn once I seat it fully. When I can get it to run I can control the speed until I seat the front plate.

Could even be the power supply. OEM will sort it out. I had an issue and they replied the same day.

Does the impeller spin on the shaft out of the pump?

Yes it spins freely when removed from the pump.

Do you have citric acid? Soak the pump and impeller in there for 24 hrs or so and see if that helps.
