I posted this in the SPS forum but I think most of the SPS keepers don't have any leather corals, so I'm hoping maybe someone here is a soft coral keeper that also has SPS.

What happens to a leather coral when an encrusting SPS (montipora specifically) encroaches on it? Does the leather die? Is there coral warfare...? Does the SPS eventually stop?

I don't think they will hurt each other, but they will get crowded fast as monti can grow quick. Monti can possibly sting skeletal LPS such as acan but leathers dont fit this risk

Mine seems to grow close, then grow in a different direction.
I let them all, fight it out, so far, they respect each other.
