I have a 75 Gal. show tank which as been setup for 25yrs.. fish only.. I have recently built a sump to go with it and want to know what members recommend for getting the proper flow within the show tank so that the detritus can get picked up by the prefilter/skimmer in the sump.. I'm thinking of using two but not sure what power to get..

This is a tricky one.
Power heads for random currents to suspend the detritus and enough turnover to make sure it makes it to the sump.

A couple of MP40s, ideally positioned on opposite sides of the back panel will get the job done. Or a couple of Koralia 1150s would be a more affordable, but less attractive/non-controllable option. Might have to put those on opposite side panels (but not directly facing each other) to create a whirlpool effect. Tunze makes a comparable "middle of the road" product.

Holy crap,,, just saw that MP40's sell for near 300 bucks,, do they send someone over once a week to vacuum the substrate for that price??

thanks for the replies.. I just ordered a single Jebao TW25 WP25 Controllable Wavemaker Powerhead for 50 bucks.. thought I would start with that an place it low shooting down the back of the tank towards the sump pickup.
Anyone have opinions on the low voltage DC Jebao products??
