Well what I’ve come up with can’t decide this will have a lot of spots for corals which I like. Just can’t get a good 2 island rock formation def looking for opinions!

Suggestion: do not feel like you have to use all the rock.

Agreed, I can already see an island on the left if you take out those 2-3 rocks in the middle. And then if you remove 1-2 more from the right, I’m sure you can re-stack that into a nice island.

Lately I’m of the mind that ~0.5 lb per gallon of display is where most of the really dreamy tanks are.

For a RSR 250 that’s only like 25-30 lbs.

Ya ima try that now looking at it probably would be good to remove some. Thanks! Also a problem I think to is a lot of the rock I have is pretty large might try and break it up some and use less

Grab a big hammer and a flat head screw driver. Take the smaller pieces and epoxy them together to be whatever you want.

Both are good skimmers I've had both. Skimmers with DC pumps are quieter. Also get one that is easy to clean. I spent a lot on an AC skimmer that was loud and wouldn't come apart for cleaning so replaced it with a DC that has a removable base plate. I paid more but definitely worth it.

This is what I was trying to describe. Removes ~6 rocks, creates two islands. The islands can probably be adjusted left-right so that they're a bit further from the glass. I'd want to make sure you can fit at least a closed fist between the rocks and glass for future 'fiddling'.

Looking great! I am shocked at the size of the return chamber, they really limit the return pump options now. Even the VarioS6 that I had would struggle to fit in that chamber. I guess there is a trade off since the new sump has a fuge built in.

Well pretty much just been working on aquascape since I got home. Can’t believe I had all the rock in there took a whole bunch out and broke some larger pieces up. So far this is what I got let me know what you think. I’m kind of digging this look can’t decide if the small island if I should try and make it taller or leave alone?

I personally prefer more caves if possible, just cause the fishes seem to use it for bedtime :)

Looks fine, can be an island for gsp or other lower light corals
