Anyone using a skimmate collector and also uses a controller?

I’ve noticed that some collectors like the reef octopus auto waste collectors come with a breakout box that have to plug your skimmer in to, then you plug your skimmate collector into the wall outlet.

My question is can you plug this breakout box into your apex? I like how my apex will currently shut off my skimmer and then delay it for 5 minutes during feedings, and would prefer to not lose this functionality. But don’t want to set up a dangerous situation by plugging extra boxes into the eb832 if they are not designed to handle them.

Shouldn't be a problem. It's not adding additional load, just a control to shut off the skimmer if the reservoir fills.

I would suggest if you have an Apex now, to just get any container and a float switch (some of preset up for float switches) and do the same thing directly through the Apex without the need for the extra controller.

Good point.
