Does this mean I’m skimming too wet? New tank and just running for aeration and break in while allowing skimmate to drain back into tank.

Yes. If it is a new tank, you can wait a couple months before using it. Lower the water level and reduce aeration to get to just below the cup.

Thanks. Tank has been running with livestock for about six weeks. 4.5 nitrates and 0.0 phosphate so I’m not concerned with nutrient export at present.
