I have a HOB Reef Octopus BH100 Classic. If i want to let my tank get a little dirty, and keep more nutrients in the water, how would I go about this. Would moving the skimmer collection cup up higher so it dosent remove as much be the way? Or if the skimmer is running is it still removing things even if its not being collected. Would I just be best to shut the skimmer off?

I would just shut the skimmer down, typically you would let the skimmer run for gas exchange and just let collection cup drain back into sump.. not possible with HOB
