Skimmer advice please
I have a 140G FOWLR tank, relatively lightly stocked. Looking for a good quality skimmer.
I currently have an AquaMaxx DFC-80 and want an upgrade.

The 3 skimmers I've short-listed are:
  • Bubble Magus Curve 9+
  • Red Sea RSK 300
  • Red Sea RSK 600 (one LFS has a special on these which actually makes them comparable in price to the other two... but it is a bit oversized for my tank, which I've heard is actually counter-productive)
Any suggestions/advice?

Octo regal 150 int with auto shut off is what I swear by and if you stay lightly stocked this will be fine otherwise move up to the 250

I have the RSK600 with an 88g DT and 24g sump. No complaints.
Not oversized for your tank?

I saw a BRS video which said oversized skimmer can actually skim less than undersized because it doesn't get pushed into it's sweet spot for optimal skimming (or something along those lines)

What's the budget?
What are your plans for the future?
AC or DC? Preference?
There is some truth to this but you've got to really go way too big. I've never found this to be the case for me.
I've always figured a skimmer is good for half of what they're rated for.

I've had it for over 2 years. It has worked as advertised. Short break-in period. I consider it quiet when the cabinet doors are closed.

I have a reef octopus 150 INT. That would work perfectly. Asking $150. I love it but finally upgraded to the regal model.
