Apologies for raising older topic....

So, few months now i run hose from skimmer into my basement, to draw fresh air from outside.....

Basement is clean, with open windows with mesh, so nothing can get inside, and so far, no problems at all...

But i'm wondering..... Should i add some way of filtration, add some box or something with carbon, just to be sure?

Also, when connected like that, do i need to connect hose to silencer, or can i eliminate him and connect hose directly?
I bypassed the silencer and connected hose directly to Venturi. I don’t filter with carbon all do is cable tie 3 Red Sea media/carbon bags around the end of the hose outside just to stop large particles.

Thank you, i'll try to remove silencer, curent bioload is small so skimmer is dialed down, so probably dont make much difference with or without silencer

Some really clean installs on here. For my “port” I just made one using PVC. Stuffed about 2” worth with filter floss and taped mesh over it. Not super clean, so looking to switch it up at my new house.

I already had a CO2 scrubber from before the external vent. I used the canister in line with about 1 cup of CO2 and CO2 media. Worked well for the 2 or so years I had it up.
