Question, new skimmer, running for 4 weeks now. The bubble level inside the skimmer randomly drops then later it will go back up to where it's supposed to be. Water level in sump stays stable. And it's in the recommended water level. Any advice?

It’s gonna do that depending on weather, bioload, other outside factors. If you water level is staying constant as you mentioned and you have it skimming well most of the time when it is not low you are should be good.

Look a few hours later, if it is still not running right maybe then adjust

What does the manufacturer say about how deep the skimmer should set in water. I suspect it's to low.

water level / height this is a big question for me. I have the same skimmer and not sure why the water level would make a difference? the input is only 3" from the bottom so why would it matter if outside water is 6"-8" etc??
