Who’s spouse, significant other, live in partner, gives the stink eye when trying to clean the skimmer in the kitchen sink?

I do it when no one else is around. The main objection in our household is rinsing the black worms. They are not allowed in the kitchen.

Somewhat related - when you rinse out skimmer cups, do you clean completely or just empty and rinse lightly, leaving much of the biofilm gunk that is stuck to the sides intact?

I clean completely. No use in getting the cup out just to clean it partially

Spouse?
Complaint was too much time with the tank. It was her or the tank she said.
I now have 3 tanks and enjoying the newest one. Happiness is discussing purchases with MYSELF !!
Reminds me- 10 years is coming up and time to send her a THANK YOU card!!

I don't see what the fuss is? You wash your dirty dishes in the kitchen sink, so my skimmer cup is just a smaller dish that needs to be washed.

They did invent this stuff called soap. It will wash your sink and the accompanying skimmate down the drain where no one has to smell or see it.

I don't see the problem or why a significant other would have an issue with it.

The wife and I both wash the skimmer cups in the wet bar sink. As a matter of fact when we built the wet bar a few years ago SHE is the one that changed the sink size so it was easier to clean the skimmer cups.

I always used to get yelled at, so I installed a utility sink in the laundry room for washing my skimmer cup and anything else from the aquarium.

I clean mine in the sink too, just when she’s not around...
