Skimmer doing a first for me

Interesting. The only change to my system is I took my 818 SSE CARX offline and replaced it with a 1218 SSE. That is the only difference. The foam, out of no where, is lifting the lid of my RE BK skimmer and caking to the side of the collection cup (top). The lid is getting suspended by foam about 1/4-3/8th of an inch above the cup. Freaking odd.

Maybe the manufacturing oils? Did you wash it good? Citric acid wash? Raise the skimmer up or lower water level in skimmer. If it’s dc you can adjust it that way. Probably go away in a few days.

I soaked the media but no, dang, I did not clean the reactor at all. Good call. What a mess lol. Yeah, turning it down a bunch.

I played the role of know it all “been there done that”. Wound up getting air in the pump, oil in the skimmer and called GEO so that when we hung up he could laugh at me, lol. However, I value admitting my faults in life. Once GEO “politely reminded me” to read the instructions I came across a very important piece of insight that I missed two years ago. Sigh… nothing to see here … keep moving….
