Hey all. Looking for a better skimmer for my Red Sea desktop peninsula. Right now I’ve got an icecap k-1 nano from a previous setup but it’s not really doing anything. I’ve been playing with to get it to form a head but it’s not. I’ve even built a diy stand for it. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s operating the way it should, I just can’t get it adjusted right. So I’m wondering what everyone else is using. Is the skimmer from Red Sea built for these tanks worth anything?

I wouldn't use any skimmer in a desktop tank. Water changes should be fine and unless your tank is very heavily loaded a skimmer will probably not be needed.

I’ve been using a skimmer on a 15 gallon IM cube for a year and it pulls all sorts of skimmate and change water weekly. At 24 gallons I’ll be using a skimmer.
