I’ll be moving in a few months and think I’m going to buy a new tank to make moving my tank a bit easier. I’m currently thinking about the IM SR Pro2 80g. The skimmer I have no obviously won’t fit in an AIO. What skimmer would fit and work well? I know the Tunze brand is well though of, but even 2 of the 9001 aren’t rated for that tank size. Is there a better option?

I currently have a 65g with sump. While I love having a sump, I’ve had occasional issues with a dripping bulkhead and working on that is not my idea of a good time so the AIO is appealing. My current skimmer is a curve 5 elite and that thing is a beast.

I'm running a Tunze 9004 DC skimmer in my SR Pro2 80g, it's rated up to 79g. With all the rock and sand I don't feel like I'm running at the edge, seems to perform well once I got it dialed in. Fits great, easy to install in the return. Sicce also has a line of compact skimmers now, which you might want to look into. Good luck with your move!

Thanks! How do you like the tank?

Overall, I really like it. Easy to install, though I did have some help. suction cup kit came in real handy for the tank. Consider placement if you plan to have anything running in the middle of the rear sump area. I added a small refugium back there and it's a bit challenging to maintain it from the side for the tank, and hasn't been thriving. Thinking of removing that and maybe add some red ogo to the main display instead. I also added rubble rock back there for added filtration. I love how much space the stand provides, and the fact it is all extruded aluminum - super strong. I have my ATO reservoir, dosing containers, and a control cabinet in there, and still have room on the shelf for test kits and tools. good luck with your new tank, let me know how it goes!
