I have a Euro-Reef RS80 skimmer, and replaced the needle wheel last week due to the old one breaking. Since installing the new needle wheel, it have been skimming very wet. I was averaging about a cup of waste daily before, and now it is about 4 cups. I have the outlet set at the lowest level (the version I have has pvc that slides up to raise the water level in the skimmer), and the skimmer is only in about 6" of water. Does the needle wheel need to break in? Or do I need to add a valve to limit the intake?

Per the advice of a user on another forum. I have cut 1" off the output to lower the water level in the skimmer. I will give it a few days and see what happens.

She buys purses and shoes, I buy coral and fish.
