Why am I getting so much foam?

150 gallon DT cycled since Nov 2019
Nyos 160 skimmer
Phosphate .007 Hannah
Nitrate 10 Salifert
Tropic Marine Pro Salt 35ppm

What causes foam like this? I was originally thinking it was because the tank and skimmer were still relatively new. I'm cleaning the cup every day or every other day. There is so much foam that it pushes the top of the cup off a lot of times.

The tank was heavily stocked up until a few days ago, but now it's fallow (velvet).

Is the foam caused by air flow or water height or is this something different?

Increased water hight can be a cause, I have the 160 and also 300 and if the water is to high they can do that. The 300 does what you have above so much that I had to put a 15 minute apex program delay in for whenever the main return is off

Try ‘opening’ the valves to lower the internal water level and foam level until it stops and then gradually close it again until it produces what you want.

On the 300 version it only has a fine tune valve, the main large one is screwed in place. Because of this I found on the 160 is was easier to open the large value so the hole is fully open all the time. And then use the fine tune valve to adjust the skimmer by closing it.
