Skimmer stinking the whole house.

My tank is in the basement, and i can smell the skimmer from 2 floors above; it absolutely stinks as i feeds heavy. Is there anything i can do? I just emptied out. Bur is there any accessories i can add to the skimmer that take smell away

What if it overflows?

Maybe place a carbon pad on top of the skimmer lid like what's used in air filters and even some fresh water hobs.

Get a skimate locker or add some granulated carbon inside the cup.

put a bag of carbon on top of the skimmer lid vents.

I carbon dose fairly heavily & skimmate smells like Satan's alley if left for more than 48hrs.
I've attempted various DIY carbon pads etc.
Only solution I've had is clean it nightly.
I'll need a better solution for hollidays however
