Skimmer suggestions

I would like your help please.

I'm thinking about replacing my skimmer and would love your suggestions. (using Euro-Reef now)

Roughly 300g of total water.
I'm doing SPS.
Bioload = med. to high

So if you would be so kind as to point me to what you think is the best, I'll start looking around.

(I'm going to put this in the large tank forum also)

The Octopus skimmers are nice and are well built for the price. I'm using a Octo Extreme 250 on my 180 with an upgraded pump and I love it. Are you looking for something for in the sump or an external and is there a cap on your price range? I know people will chime in with reccomendations for ATB, but they are a bit pricey.

I always thought it was a little undersized. And I believe I might be losing the pump. Good excuse to upgrade, right. Don't get me wrong I love it and works great.

I'm using a Super Reed Octopus 3000SSS Internal with the Reef Octopus Cleaning head, and its by far the best skimmer I've ever run. Here is a pic :)

I bought it used, and I do not know what model it is but I'm 85 % positive it is on the small side for my tank. I believe it was rated for 200 gallons.

Also thought about seeing if there is a larger pump to make my skimmer perform better. Any ideas on that?

What pump is it using now ? I have seen some using bigger Sedra's with good results .
EG : CS 400 run with a Sedra 9000 and with the stock 5000 since it uses two pumps .
U might want to give Reef Dynamics a call to get their thoughts on it . ER's still exist just the name has changed to the later mentioned or something like that .

octopuss 3000 is prob my favorite but i end up buying the swc 300, wish it had better pumps on mine instead of the sicce 2500.

I have two friends running the Hurricone Cat skimmmers . They are beasts . One has the Cat 1 and the other a Cat 2 . That Askoll 1500 pump is something else .
