Skimmer to small?

Hello guys I have a question about my cadlights pls 50 v2 skimmer....it is on my jbj 65 gallon reef tank....but it's not skimming much waste collection cup is empty at the end of the week but the cone is dirty....it's this skimmer to small for this tank? Says it's rated for 30 gallons...tank has been up for 2 months....thanks for any help

Too small. You want a Bubble magnus curve 5 or reef octopus 110

It will fill the collection cup in record time .
But yes . If the skimmer is rated for 30 gals . That’s generally for light bio load ,
For a 65 gal tank , a curve 5 I believe is rated for above 100 gal light bio load .

I have one . Brand new used for less than a month and put it back in the box .
I dislike in sump skimmers ....
they work great . I had it on my 90 gal but wasn’t what I wanted ....

The jbj is a aio tank back Chambers 3.5x5 inch
In that case - Ice Cap K2-50 which i own. Looks and works like a full sized skimmer
