Slowing Jebao OW10?

Hello r2r,
I just got a jebao OW10 for my 6.6 gallon bowfront reef, and even on the slowest speed and in night mode, it is too much flow. My corals on the sandbed all went flying, even kicked up a sandstorm- and I've got large grain aragonite!
So I am looking for a good way to slow it down some more? I read that people used 12v power supply and that cut the speed way down- I had some cheap 12v plugs lying around and tried them all, but the pump would not turn on. The controller had power, but the "speed" lights were constantly blinking.
Anybody have any luck turning down an OW10?

Hmm, why? The OW10 is the newest version I believe, and rated for the same GPH as the SW2, no?

oh I thought they renamed the OW and the OW-10 was equal to the PP4,SW4, RW8 sizes
hmm strange my buddy has an SW2 in his 7gal turned all the way down on pulse and seems to work well

few years ago on an old tank i was slowing down an RW8 and used a universal power supply. they dont carry the one I bought anymore but it was something like this

Thanks- I also have a 100gph-ish pump in my AIO filter insert that adds to the flow as well, part of the problem.
On lowest setting and on pulse, angled at the surface, it's do-able. But would rather direct flow across the front pane from the back to get some direct flow to the bottom of the rockwork.
Thanks for the link I will look into that. I've tried 12v plugs but not with a power brick like that

The OW is different as it has no electronics in the pump (like the DCP pumps), so you cannot just use 12v.
Make sure you are not using the random flow mode, as that operates at 100% max speed regardless of your speed setting.
try the pulse or wave, or even the constant mode at the lowest setting.

its no different than the RW-8 pump or the PP4 pumps. the adjustable power supply will cut the amount of power the controller is sending to it and making the pump not push as hard

Ok, looks like the SOW is the model that uses BLDC signal, not the OW.

welp, wish I had bought the SOW I guess if that's the newest, but I have managed to get the OW10 to work in my space. I do wish it was about 30gph less, but one benefit to being oversized is I now have absolutely 0 surface film even without a skimmer.

Ordered the ow10 for my 5 gallon and I just have the return pump which is almost harmless as flow. Do you think it will be ok the jebao on the lowest setting? How should I place it?
